RaRa Schlitt is a nationally renowned folk artist and a children’s book author and illustrator.  

Her art hangs in several public places in the East Tennessee area including The University of Tennessee Hospital Chapel, East Tennessee Children's Hospital, and the Helen Ross McNabb Center. She has been a guest artist for March of Dimes, and has donated art to benefit Random Act of Flowers, Cancer Research, and Habitat for Humanity, Hope Advocacy House, University of Tennessee Neonatology Unit and Harmony Adoption. To celebrate libraries and children’s literature her art has been displayed in Canada, England & Switzerland. 

In addition to displaying at Art & Soul Marketplace, she also has art that is on permanent display in several retail spaces in Maryville Tennessee including Sweet Celebrations and The Market.  Her art is represented in galleries in New York, North Carolina, California Alabama and Florida.

This mother of five can be found painting to classical music with her golden retriever Rosie by her side. Her love of life and others is painted into each canvas. Her hope is that people will have an opportunity to pause and enjoy the art in their life.  She resides in Maryville Tennessee with her husband Tom.
