19-Sep-11	Gallery Walk - September 23rd Join us for another fun-filled Gallery Walk this Friday evening.  Art & Soul Marketplace will be serving wine and goodies while our guests  browse the gallery and enjoy work from out new artists Connie Knight, Vickie Jo Franks, Jim Caskowski and Toni Young.  Art & Soul Marketplace will also start Art for a Cause - a year worth of raffle drawings.   Each month, we will feature a different work of art to be raffled off and 100% of the proceeds will be given to a local organization. For the month of October, the raffle drawing winner will receive an image by fine art photographer Susan Stanton and the proceeds will be donated to the Transylvania Community Arts Council. Raffle tickets sales will start during Friday’s Gallery Walk.
02-Sep-11	Transylvania County Celebrates it's 150th birthday The planning for the Transylvania County 150th Birthday Celebration has been going on for months and now the centerpiece event of the Sesquicentennial year is just a month away. The celebration will begin at 10 am on Saturday, September 3 on Main Street in downtown Brevard. The day’s many signature activities will run until 5 pm and will be followed by a special concert and fireworks extravaganza on the campus of Brevard College from 7 – 10 pm.
28-Jun-11	Welcome New Artist - Patrick Girouard Welcome Patrick Girouard! Our newest addition to the gallery, Patrick Girouard is a wonderful illustrator who hails from Indiana and has displayed a darling arrangement of the Alphabet in 26 parts. Either framed or unframed, these colorful characters would be a welcomed addition to any child's room.  Here is a sampling of Patrick's work, but you will definitely want to stop by the gallery and check them out!
20-Jun-11	New Susan Stanton Images Wow! We have some wonderful new images of local and regional waterfalls by fine art photographer and current Smithsonian exhibitor, Susan Stanton. You can't miss this amazing display of local and regional waterfalls - the display is the first thing that catches you when you walk through the doors of Art & Soul.  Stop in this weekend and check them out!  We promise you won't be disappointed.  Here is just a little taste of what you will see.   a .
15-Jun-11	Welcome New Artist - Jim Hefley  Art & Soul will be displaying the work of oil and pastel artist, Jim Hefley in the upcoming weeks. Jim lived and worked in Europe for years and developed a deep appreciation for the countryside fields, farmhouses, villages and landscape scenes in England, France and Italy, including some very colorful paintings of lavender fields in Provence and vineyards in Tuscany. Welcome Jim!  Here is a sneak peek at his wonderful fine art.
23-May-11	Gallery Walk - May 27th Exciting weekend coming up.....Friday is the Gallery Walk! Join us for wine and goodies as we kick off the start of the summer season! Art & Soul is showcasing the fine art nature images of Sean Thompson this month. Saturday and Sunday is the White Squirrel Festival featuring 2 days of great music, food and fun! Don't miss it!
22-Apr-11	Local Gallery Owner Wins Picasso The Transylvania County Arts Council held their raffle drawing for a signed Picasso etching on Friday, April 22nd during Brevard's 4th Friday Gallery Walk.  Holly Wiencek, owner of Art & Soul Marketplace in Brevard is now the proud owner of this wonderful piece of art history.
