Madelene's passion is to create wool rugs and wall hangings inspired by her love of the colors and patterns found in nature. She feels fortunate that her home studio is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Weaving in these surroundings makes her feel a greater connection with the energy of the natural world. This is a guiding force in her creations.

In 2008, Madelene began corresponding with Amos Mwisyo, a young man living in Kenya. Even though he lives in extreme poverty, he always seems to have great hope for a better future.  Madelene decided to blend her love of weaving with her desire to help Amos and is now "Weaving For a Cause" to support Team Amos.  The mission of Team Amos is to provide Amos with both the financial and emotional support necessary to help him gain an education and achieve his dream of one day having a successful career in the legal field. 

With the purchase of any handwoven item, Madelene will contribute 50% of the sales proceeds to help Team Amos.
