Upon completion of her thirty years in education, Honey knew she had to find something new to be passionate about and to give her the feeling of “completeness.”  After a couple of years looking, she found a new love - clay.

"I have learned many lessons these last few years, not just about clay, but about life.  I have learned that I must settle.  I must have a steady and calm hand.  No longer can I rush.  I must accept that not everything I aspire to will be successful.  I must listen to the sounds around me and be quiet.  I must become aware of my surroundings and let nature be my guide.  I must be willing to allow my inner spirit to be touched, rolled and thrown".

Blessed in more ways than she could ever count, Honey knows that she must give back.   Each year when the Low Country Tea Rooms are in operation, she donates her pottery.  She also gives to her church, Bethany Methodist as well as St. Paul’s and St. Andrews.   For five years now, she has participated in the MS Challenge Walk walking 50 miles over a weekend and raising a minimum of $1,500.00.  Multiple Sclerosis has affected many of her loved ones and friends and has become a mission for her.  "I want to make a difference and do what I can to raise awareness and funds so that a cure can be found.  A percentage of my pottery sales goes to MS and I contribute my pottery for the local support group."
