Barbara studied fine art in high school and college and although she took occasional art courses throughout her working years, she became really involved in visual arts following her move several years ago to Brevard, NC.  She studied watercolor painting with her friend and mentor, the late Dorothy Moreau and continued study through workshops with Sue Byrne Russell and Dani Janov at Hemlock Studio, Sue Connor, Frank Webb, Ann Vasilik, Sandra Moore, Elaine Bailey, Dr. Joe Robinson, Patricia Dennis, Patricia Gorrow, Susan Tregay, Joy Moon, Toni Young and others.

Barbara's art is inspired by a love of nature expressed through her painting, at times realistically and other times through abstraction.  Her work includes watercolor, oil and acrylic painting.

Professional affiliations include the Connesstee Art League, Transylvania Art Guild and Transylvania Arts Council.  Her work is currently shown at Land of Waterfalls Art Gallery and Art & Soul Marketplace.
